Rooster! Again???

15 05 2012

So having played the part of Rooster Hannigan in Annie for Tynemouth Amatuer Operatic Society in April, I have now been invited to play it again for Newcastle Musical Theatre Company at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle.

Really looking forward to it, as I have had an on/off relationship with the building for around 22 years. I first worked there as a stage technician in 1990 on the panto Aladdin with Anita Dobson, Bernard Bresslaw and the Krankies.

Been back there a number of times as crew, and loads of times as an audience member, but this will be my debut performing a full role on the boards.

Will be performing with some good chums, and it should be a great laugh.

Tickets on sale now from the Theatre Royal box office

PDXarts’ next event…

22 07 2011

A unique opportunity for adults to have a bash at some creative drama workshops. For those who are both inexperienced and very experienced, the workshops will be focusing on the craft and technique rather than working towards a final production.
If this group of workshops is successful, further workshops (and possibly showcases) will follow.

into 2011…(already at March!!)

1 03 2011

Where did January and February go then? Seems like only yesterday it was Christmas and New Year.

So, having been occasionally busy at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle on the LX team, and continuing the promotion of my own work here at PDXarts, the first two months of 2011 have flown by.

More workshops are planned for this month, and I am hoping to build on the success I have at another local school in January to provide more workshops and show services during the summer term.

I will also be performing in Leicester with my good friends from BLOOMdance in April in the show “Flying Past Stars on Silver Wings” which is based on Roald Dahl Stories, and will have over 100 children in it from mainstream schools at those with additional needs. Book tickets now! – Leicester CURVE. Booking office: www.curveonline.co.uk or 0116 242 3595.
And hearty congrats to all involved in “The King’s Speech” for their successes over the past few months, especially at the Oscars. This has put me to start planning for next year’s ceremony, and hosting the “PDXarts Oscars Party”. Stay tuned for more information as and when I have it.
